I suddenly have no sound, from any source. System sounds, media player, streaming videos - none of them play sound.

I have an eMachines T2895 (Win XP Home), and downloaded the latest driver recommended on the eMachines website (RealTek AC'97). After I update the driver the sound works fine until I reboot. Once I reboot, no sound.

I tried rolling back to the old driver, and sound worked again - until I rebooted.

After all this, I've learned that changing the driver gets sound working again, but something is killing it when I boot up.

Thanks in advance for any help!

First try to install the driver of mainboard . Then install the drive of sound card. Your problem will be solved.
