Hi,
I was wondering if anybody knew if a new (internal) hard drive for my Mac Pro had to be bought through apple, and if not what type and how to install it.

Thanks

No it doesnt. Does your computer have IDE or SATA?

That would be SATA. I dont have much experience with SATA drives. I dont think you need to worry about master and slave settings. You should just be able to open up your Pro and plug the hard drive in. If you want it accessible by more than just OS X(like if you have Windows too) youll want to format it as FAT32. Otherwise, HSF+ is better for Macs.
