Dialer
On those days when the internet seems unbearably slow, and I know it's not malware or some other problem with my computer, I visit the Internet Traffic Report to see what's happening around the world.

Does anyone know of other sites that offer similar information?

You're most welcome, gang. smile.gif

Me too, TZ. I'm currently connected at 26.4Kbps; on a really good day, I whiz along at 28.8. blink.gif Even so, I sometimes notice a slowdown in my surfing, and sure enough, it's often reflected at the Internet Traffic Report. Makes me feel better about my computer, at least. wink.gif

a trick i found out how to get your internet faster is to go to regedit
go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER from there go to software and then go to microsoft then go to windows and then current version and then internet explorer

yeah its alot of places you have to go but very worth it in the long run
so now you will see reg_sz's DWORDS and BINARIES

every DWORD on the list is usually set to 0 for a value. right click on all the DWORDS and click modify then change the system from hexidecimal to decimal and change the value to 10 or at least something higher than 1 or 0. me personaly i have to check back at regedit every now and then because the values go back to 1 or 0 so i keep having to replace the values but it makes internet lightning fast. i understand that its slow because of a 56k dial up but you should get some much needed speed to your internet... (this is assuming you use internet explorer.)

I believe the tweak you are refering to increases the number of connections IE can handle an one time, While this is good, People should excersise caution when entering the registry as it can lead to problems if you don't know what you are doing.
