Full Version: Win32/fotomoto + Big Problem After Using Combofix

I use a HP Pavillion dv6000 shared by the entire family; some members use Firefox and some use IE7. I'm currently using another computer to post this.

While using Word 2000 and Firefox, a Windows Security risk came up telling about a high risk alert called WIN32/FOTOMOTO. I selected it and clicked on Remove All. Then the toolbar disappeared.
I logged off and logged back on and the toolbar was back. I opened up Firefox and looked for solutions to WIN32/FOTOMOTO. I found this page.

I followed the instructions there and ran ComboFix. Instead of getting a logfile, though, it mentioned something about deleting some things and closed. Then the internet on the computer stopped working. The wireless adapter seemed to be working fine and wireless worked on other computers, too. Spybot S&D had a window come up asking about access to a certain file, but then closed on its own. Then an error window came up and then closed itself. The computer then restarted on its own.
After restart, I opened the HP Total Care Advisor and found that my hardrive went from being 97% full to 45%.
What have I done?!

Please help. Thanks so much.

ComboFix is a very powerfol tool and can really mess your system up. If you've lost over 1/2 the contents of your hard drive I'd suggest backing up your data and then using the HP restore disks to restore your computer to it's original factory specifications.
