Hello, I want to build a new computer for my grandpa, I have built one computer before but im not to good at it.
I need to find a video card that works with windows vista home premium and has a VGA and DVI port he does not play games so maybe something that does not cost alot
im trying to make this build as cheap money wise as i can. I would like to buy the video card from Newegg.com

2nd part of the question

Why are the computer screens DIV-D
and the video cards are DVI-I dont I want the same for both?

Here is the video card I was thinking about buying. but alot of people said they stink and i dont know if it works with vista
He does not play games or any thing just like internet and what not.

DVI-A(analog only) - High-Res Analog
DVI-D(digital only) - True Digital Video
DVI-I(digital & analog) - The Best of Both Worlds

A DVI-D, or DVI-A male, will plug into a DVI-I female.
A DVI-I male, will not plug into a DVI-D, or DVI-A female.

You can connect DVI-D to VGA, using an adapter.

Here's a couple of links to some images, of the different connectors:

the video card is DVI-I
the Screen is DVI-D

I don't see any reason why a combination such as that would not operate successfully. The monitor is supplied with both VGA and DVI cables.

I would reconsider that Video Card. Read the reviews! There isn't a good one.

Here is a decent card that has some decent reviews. Still low end but at least people are saying good things about it.

I always value the reviews on New Egg.

I think number 1 but im not sure? It will be on windows Vista Home Premium
not for playing to much intense games but just normal usage for someone thats like 70 years old

#1 looks OK but I always lean towards an ASUS product.

For what you are doing, either should be fine.
