My family has a computer savy friend who helped us install Windows XP and Microsoft Office onto our computer. however after he left Microsoft Office began acting strangly it would pop up that it needed to install some new feature.. but I won't bore you. The problem was that we had lost the disk somewhere. so we had our friend come by. And to figure out how to solve this problem he set Microsoft Office to open upon startup. However this did not help the problem and now we get that annoying popup like 9 times (when we click on any profile picture) before the rest of the startup proceeds (operating System Windows XP). I ran the program suggested however searching through such a big list is very time consuming, not to mention I don't really understand the program that well. and I thought I might just ask you guys how to rid us of it.

Thanks !

What exactly does the popup say?

What exactly does the popup say?

It is a window with "Word Perfet® Office 12" in the blue box.

"Preparing to install" a bar moves about 3/4ths of the way to completion but then another pop-up comes up saying

"The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removeable disk that is not available

Insert the 'Word Perfect Office 12' disk and click OK.

Use source" it then has a dropdown bar with "[Wordperfect Office 12]" as the only option.

To the right of this all are buttons reading "OK" "Cancel" and "Browse".

When I click ok or cancel it reads.
"Error 1706 No Valid source could not be found for product Word Perfect Office 12

Windows installer cannot continue."
I will then have to go through this 8 more times but I can click cancel at the first step to skip the process

Additional notes: this same thing will happen when I attempt to open a file however upon cancelation it will open Microsoft Office with a blank document. If I keep this blank document open it will then open the file. Also Microsoft office is impossible to open in a temporary file.

Also NONE of these problems occur under one User but it does happen for the other users.

Again the real issue I wish to solve (As I realize the disk will be neccesary) is the startup issue.
