My little brother made my account a standard user and his an admin however he accidently turn off the programs that allows you to make changes. So now, I can access his admin account cause it doens't show up and whenver I try to use a admin program and enter the password it come out correct but it still won't access because the program. mad.gif

I think it called user something something.

If there no way to fix this how can you restore vista to it shipping condition without having to access admin (please try to answer this question even if there an answer to the question before).

P.S. system restore can only work up to a cetain date so please don't list this as an answer.

Depends on what kind of install you have. I believe HP puts their OS into a recovery partition as well as Dell. Others are similar.

They usually allow you to reset the entire machine back to the factory specs.

If it's a white box, a reinstall may be necessary but I wouldn't do that just yet as I am not that savvy with the Vista security.

Give us some more model info? They change their ways over the years and each company is a little different.
