gettin a lotta mixed info here. most who use them say there comps run better [from what iver read here]. i found a site here that suggests they make no difference :

http://arstechnica.com/cpu/03q1/x86-64/x86-64-5.html

amd site says they add peforemance.

questin...whats the difference??? if all the programms out there can be expressed with the amount of integers in 32 processors...why a jump to 64?

is there any true performance enhancement? article said something like the processor gets more strained when running in 32 bit mode cause i dunno...dunno wthh it was talkin about there. My buddy says no enhancement on 32 bit progs [none really have reached mroe than 4 g free space] but it would enhance 64 bit progs.

anyone wanna give this a shot? links would be good too. thanks.

The 64bit architecture allows you to bypass the 4gb barrier that is in place right now so that is a huge advantage for servers or workstations that need to use intensive applications.

Also 64 bit processors can handle twice as many bits of information in one cpu cycle than a 32 bit processor can. This increases performance.

There have though been reports of 32 bit software incompatibilities, so beware.
