I'm using AVG 7.5 free for now and would like to know if any other good anti virus programs that work with vista besides AVG?

Depends if you want paid for software - I have installed Nod32 and Kaspersky on vista laptops without problems.

Never tried any of the free anti virus products.

Been using Avast 4.7 for 9 months on home premium without problems (you need to register) smile.gif

AVG Free 7.5 works fine with Vista, no problems! Just don't have multiple Anti-viral programs (only have one) and make sure you have an Anti-Spyware
program aswell as a firewall. (Ensure you have one of each, otherwise if you have multiple anti-viral programs for example it could cause problems and clash etc.)

Norton360's not very user-friendly at all. I have only used Norton System Works before that, and I can't do anything that I need to.

hi ,,, as stated above agv is good on vista,,, so is avast,,, i use avast free on 2 vista & 1 xp machine,,,, you also want to think about getting an anti spy ware program to,,,,,, there a few free ones out there, but one i have found to be very good is and was recomended on here is SUPERANTISPYWARE. You can use the free version just as a scanner or upgrade to the payed version which runs an active gaurd in the background blocking nasties from getting in in the first place,,, this is very good on vista aswell.
good luck.

Don't forget a firewall! I use AVG along with ZoneAlarm, which is also free. There are a couple of other free firewalls as well.

I have a Vista Ultimate box that has Avast AV on it. I am pleased with it's performance. I also use Comodo's firewall.

I find the best combination of software is:

Adware/Malware - Lavasoft Adware (get the free version from Download.com)

Anti-Virus - AWG Free Edition (which seems happy to co-exist with Vista, and vice-versa)

Firewall - Microsoft Defender

Even though I have used it in the past, I have found Norton is far too intrusive and is always doing things apparently just to let you know it's there!
