Hey guys was at best buy today and picked up some ram. SAw that they has 4 gigs of rdy boost pny usb ram there. Now the question is it worth it?? what does it do exactly ive read some things about it but dont understand it completely does it act like cache on demand??? any input would help. sorry if this is bad typing ive been up all night in line and a bit out of it atm... interested in this but want to know the downside/benefits

only if you use Vista and have maxed out the ram on the motherboard and are using a 64bit version. it helps speed up the boot process.

Ready Boost is, IMO, a poor substitute for adding more RAM to your system. The few times that I've used it, I only noticed an improvement if my Vista machine had 512 mB of RAM (running Vista Ultimate Beta with Aero turned off and a few performance tweaks). With 1gB of RAM I didn't see any improvement, so I stopped using it at that point (running Vista Ultimate RC2 with Aero turned off and a few performance tweaks). Both were on a Toshiba M45 laptop.
