Hi, we recently purchased a refurbished computer and would like to increase the RAM and possibly the CPU? and we were wondering if anyone could assist us by telling us what we would need to buy for the following....thanks Kim

Gigabyte GA-6VM7A+ ver3.2 Motherboard

· P3 866 CPU

· 128 Mb SDRAM

· 20 g Hard Disk Drive (no bad sectors)

· CD Rom 52x

· Floppy Disk

· Rage 3D Video 8Mb AGP

· OB Sound

· 1x Serial, 1x Printer Port

· 2 x USB Port Back

· PS 2 mouse port

· PS 2 Keyboard port

· Tower With ATX Power supp

If you are running windows ME or 98 I would leave the RAM as is. If you are running XP I would go to www.crucial.com and buy another 128 meg. The best thing you could do is upgrade the video card to either 32 meg or 64 meg. You can get one of these cards at a real economical price now.

You will get most "bang for the buck" by purchasing additonal RAM; for most general purposes such as surfing the NET, some word processing, etc., you will see the most improvement in speed by using more RAM.
