When I bought my 160GB Western Digital Caviar hard drive a few months ago, I unwittingly partioned it as a single 160GB partition (instead of two 80GB partitions). All was well with the drive, until I had computer problems one day, and decided it was time for a new computer.
Anyways, I installed the 160GB hard drive in the new computer, along with a 80GB Western Digital Caviar hard drive that I also had. The computer builder installed Windows XP Home Edition on the 80GB hard drive as I requested; however, we are having problems with the 160GB drive. The drive is now being recognized as "Dynamic" and the information is not accessible. This is a problem because all of my mom's digital pictures of her new granddaughter are on this drive
Is it possible for me to recover the data on the 160GB drive? I think Western Digital might have a utility, but I am not 100% sure how to use it and don't want to screw it up.
Can anyone offer me step-by-step instructions on how to fix this? I am not extremely techinally savvy, and would REALLY appreciate the help!
Regards,
Bryan
