When I bought my Acer Aspire 3680, I didn't know what I was bargaining for. There was everything from anti-virus software to pdf readers pre-installed. I was bombarded with install screens right when Windows booted up. Naturally, I uninstalled Norton Internet Security as it was only a 30 day free trial and I have always used AVG Free. After uninstalling the product it still showed up as running in my security center (below). I even used the Norton Uninstaller Tool available from Symantec (link above). Here's my question, is Norton still slowing down my system or is this just a Security Center blunder. A screenshot of my task manager is also at the bottom of this post.

Hello
Just want to be sure that this is the tool you used to remove it?
Download and run the Norton Removal Tool

Also did you turn off all the NAV tools first.

Yes, I made sure to run the tool multiple times with no luck.

I did not turn off the NAV tools, could this be the problem?

Quite probable as the program is running in some form and therefore won't uninstall. Try to shut it all down then remove with tool.
