Hi, I am having Windows Vista Home Premium installed on my laptop. And the default email avaialable is Windows Mail. But I have some .PST files (Outlook email messages from my old XP Pro PC) with me that I have archived from my old PC. I have copied the PST file to my Vista laptop but could not use it in Windows Mail. When I try to use the Import Message function in Windows Mail, it throws me an error 'Message can not be imported from the MAPI client'. Please advise me how to import my old messages from the PST file to Windows mail.
Thanks.

Windows Mail cannot natively open pst files so you have to have to open the pst file in Outlook to be able to import it.

In general you must have the messages stored in Outlook (or one of the other programs listed on the import wizard) to import them into Windows Mail.
A workaround is to install Outlook on the Vista system, import the emails into it, then use the Windows Mail wizard to import it from there.
If you don't have a copy of Outlook, you can download the trial of Office 2007 here:
