I have an eMachines 366is, and the PSU fan is loose, causing a loud grinding sound that I have been able to deal with until now. It's a mini ATX I believe, and now it is making even louder noises. Not only that, but the power light does not function when the computer is booted. There is also no video output and after boot the HDD no longer functions. This system has lasted me almost 10 years now and I don't want it to die now. Any ideas?

I think that it is time to cut your losses and run to a new machine, the power supply in the original E Machines is proprietary and extremely difficult to locate.

This link ( http://www.power-on.com/emachine.html ) shows that this $35 180 watt PSU is compatible: http://www.power-on.com/matx145.html

And here's a google for Micro ATX Power Supply: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&cli...ply&spell=1

Man yours lasted a long time... I had a emachine 500id and that lasted me a good 5-6 years before it just started getting really tired and ready to die.

You definitly got your moneys worth out of it
