Hey I have just built this computer with a 2500+. I was looking at the new 64 bit soultions and they look nice, so I was wondering if you guys think that the upgrade to this new pc i want to build would be worth it, i can easily sell this pc on ebay and only spend around 200bux for the amd 64 system, also could you tell me if you think i would see a reasonable performance increase? Would i be better off going with a 939 or intel cpu + mobo with a pci express graphics? is the 6800 or x800 better? (i am an amd and ati guy )

Well from one pc builder to the other...

Yeah now I can call myself a pc builder(built one this month my first!) I say go for the upgrades if you can get them for 200.00!

I just put in a AMD 64 3200 CPU and its great! I mean this thing moves! I can not wait to put a 64bit program I found on the WWW on it to test out the 64bit technology!

It is well worth it in the long run over a 32bit system. According to Bill gates 64bit will take over soon! He is making new windows systems just for the 64bit technology.

You think your system runs fast now you might be surprised(and me too) how fast it will go using 64bit in our programs.

Your pc specs look very good! I hope it all works out for you if you make it!

Make sure (I edited this post to let you know) that you get the socket 939! AMD is leaving socket 754 so if you get 939 you can upgrade the cpu as they get cheaper and you need more speed! I did this and it might be good in the future.

i just moved to the AMD 64 bit too, i do notice a difference.
just wish i had the cash to start a new fresh hard drive too, and maybe install the Beta Windows XP64

the only performance enhancement that the 64 chips bring are to 64 bit progs.
