Hello,
I am getting ready to install trend micro pccillin and it says that I should remove all other antivirus software from the computer before installing pccillin,

When I try to uninstall ad-aware SE personal a box comes up that reads "could not open INSTALL.LOG file" and it will not uninstall.

AdAware is an antispyware program, not an antivirus program. By all means take other opinions on this, but I'd be very surprised if you need to uninstall it.

Are we talking free version? I assume so. I see it here

Normal uninstallation from Start > Programs should take care of it. Or did you do Add/Remove? If so, no clue, as once the properly placed uninstaller is clobbered, it's trouble. There are few registry keys Lavasoft builds, but I wouldn't know what to change to let you uninstall.

No reason to uninstall, as AlanD says. But, when I think about it, Ad-Aware does a bit more than spyware, and perhaps TrendMicro people want to start alone, in a very clean state. And then you can add Ad-Aware back if needed as a scanner, the free version.

I tried to install trend micro with ad-aware se still on the computer and it wouldn't install, i am going to call their tech support monday.
