I just received my new Dell Inspiron desktop today. I have a wireless PCI card and it detects my wireless network (excellent signal strength), but it won't connect. I know the wireless is working because it works on two other computers in the house.
-The new computer has Vista on it
-The network is WPA protected (I'm using the right password)
-When I attempt to connect it says "Windows cannot connect to BandL (my wireless network)"
-When I click on 'Diagnose the problem' it says "Wireless association failed because Windows did not receive any response from the wireless router or access point."
---When I click on the troubleshooting option it gives me these options, which don't seem to be the cause of the issue: "your computer is too far from the router" (I have excellent strength); "the wireless router or access point is turned off" (I'm using it right now with another computer); "There is interference from other devices" (nope); "the network you are looking for is set to not broadcast its SSID" (my computer detects it just fine)
