Hi, since I got my computer i've only been using Norton Internet Security 2006

My question is... is this good? I keep hearing that Norton is "crap" and such...

So should i switch to something else?

If so, could you guys recommend me a very good protection program

The reason most people don't like Norton, is because it's such a resource hog, which slows your system down.

If you want to try another Antivirus, you can find several good one listed in our Freeware Replacements For Common Commercial Apps topic.
If you do decide to try one, be sure to disable Norton, while your trying another one.
You never want to have 2 Antivirus programs running at the same time.
They could conflict with one another, rendering both inoperable.

The same applies to Firewalls.

I use AVG Free, which is on the list I linked to, and have been perfectly satisfied with it.
It's light on resources, and does it's job.
