I'm pretty sure you can just download the visual styles from there and not have to sign up for anything, or at least you used to be able to.
If not, just apply the uxtheme.dll patch from Neowin (hopefully you've done this by now already) and get your visual styles from DeviantArt, they have a pretty good selection.

These are some of the different visual styles I've used and made screenshots of.

One of the first I used. OSX-like theme.

Very popular and clean style called Luna Element 5.

Get it here: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/29511577/

Nope, not Vista. Style called VistaCG.

Logon screen I used to use.

anderson8605

I am using Fractal 219 at the moment. Very impressive.

You don't need any software other than a decent image editor. Hit the PrtScr button to have Windows save a snapshot of your desktop to the clipboard, then paste that into an image editor. You can also hit Alt+PrtScr to only take a shot of the current window.

arcman, how did you get those icons on the top of your desktop that look like icons on a mac?

Also, I downloaded that vistaCG thing, but I don't know what I'm suppose to do. I used winrar to extract them to my desktop, and I don't know what I do from there.

I tried to use UXTheme multipacher 5.5 but it shows the following error.
UXtheme mltipatcher v5.5 has detected that theres any windows NT setup file in C:\Windows\i386
Its not recommend you to continue with this. Please eject your windows NT CD or move that folder to somewhere else. Press OK to exit UXTheme Multipatcher v 5.5.
Anyone can help.
thanks

Yeah that looks sharp...I'd like to know myself!

Those visual styles are bogus, and I mean bogus! I make better visual styles myself, as I am an visual style author.
Amazing Andrew
I like Bricopacks from CrystalXP.net. Right now, I'm using their Vista Inspirat2 Theme (more like a total conversion!) Check it out:

That's a Vista-esque start buton and Window style (no Aero Glass, though), a Mac OS like Dock, and a translucent Taskbar.
