Just installed a trial of Kaspersky AntiVirus. It has slowed down my PC tremendously.
Am looking for an antivirus NOT Norton. Any advice would be appreciated, or how to configure Kaspersky as I like the job it does. Thanks in advance

I have been using
AVG Free Edition for several years (Sinice '03) and it is very sweet. Most of my computers are P-III 500Mhz with 512mb of RAM running W2k. Very light on resources and have yet to have a virus infect one of my computers.

Same light use with Avast and AntiVir. On W2K you just don't know the're there. They play nice with ZA firewall free.

If kapersky is slowing you down, give the Bitdefender 10 a try, also Nod 32 has a smaller footprint, on the other hand, how much ram does your machine have?

I'll second either AVG (if you need a freebie) or NOD32, they're both good scanners with minimal system impact.

I agree. AVG antivirus free never slows down your PC, even if only 128M of RAM!
