Would like to reduce/cut the length of music tracks to shorter periods of play. I understand they have to be changed to WAV files first and then burnt (I understand this can be done through Nero??) My question is where can I find the best web site to explain the process

John try this site, i use their wave editing software and it's very simple to get the results you are after. Simply "open" the file you wish to work on, it will be displayed in it's wave form graph elements. You can play the file, stop it where you want to shorten it, then simply drag and select the areas you wish to keep of the original tune. It gives you options to save the segments as mp3 or wav files. Play around with it and you'll soon get the idea and be cutting and pasting like a wave editing pro
