Welcome to Bleeping Computer, a free community where people like yourself come together to discuss and learn how to use their computers. Using the site is easy and fun. As a guest, you can browse and view the various discussions in the forums, but can not create a new topic or reply to an existing one unless you are logged in. Other benefits of registering an account are subscribing to topics and forums, creating a blog, and having no ads shown anywhere on the site. When posting your problem, do not run and post a ComboFix logs. ComboFix is a tool that should only be run under the supervision of someone who has been trained in its use. Using it on your own can cause problems with your computer. Any posts containing CF Logs will be ignored.
To receive help, you should instead provide a detailed description of your problem, detailed word-for-word error messages that you are receiving, screenshots of strange behaviour, and your operating system. This information is much more useful to our helpers than a ComboFix log.

I was recently infected with a very recent version of Trojan.Virtumonde . I discovered a way to get rid of it: blocking system access to the registry and then running remove-on-reboot to delete the files. So once this was removed, I had to get rid of the Adware.advertising adware.
My Symptoms Whenever I search on google and then click on a lsearch result, I get redirected to www.bestwebsearch.com. Also, Gmail does not load, it just redirects to the log in screen when I try to log in. I also get random popups every 30 seconds to 2 minutes. Sometimes, I get 3-4 popups at once. What I have Tried 1. I have run Spyware Doctor several times, but whenever it seems that I've gotten rid of the adware, it re-appears. After many hours of getting rid of adware, this is my best result. However, this adware somehow multiplies itself and I get many different adware types if I wait about 10 minutes and then scan. ![]() 2. I have run Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. It currently detects nothing. Below are my results: CODE Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.38 Database version: 2297 Windows 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 6/25/2009 4:25:22 PM mbam-log-2009-06-25 (16-25-22).txt Scan type: Quick Scan Objects scanned: 82664 Time elapsed: 4 minute(s), 18 second(s) Memory Processes Infected: 0 Memory Modules Infected: 0 Registry Keys Infected: 0 Registry Values Infected: 0 Registry Data Items Infected: 0 Folders Infected: 0 Files Infected: 0 Memory Processes Infected: (No malicious items detected) Memory Modules Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Keys Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Values Infected: (No malicious items detected) Registry Data Items Infected: (No malicious items detected) Folders Infected: (No malicious items detected) Files Infected: (No malicious items detected) I currently am running spyware doctor & norton antivirus 2009.
