It depends on the location of the server in which they are doing the speed test from. I use speed test and connect to a Sydney server and get close to my ISP's advertised speed so I'm happy with that. most ISP's just plan out lie and rip you hard. Woo go Exetel for internet in Aus :D

Thanks for the link. Just last week Virgin gave me a free upgrade from 2MB to up to 10MB and I got 8.9MB on the test.
