Try running a memory test to confirm that the memory in your computer isn't defective. Windows Memory Diagnostic
You cleaned the inside of your computer....do you suspect that you have a heat related issue? I always get a little nervous when I hear that someone is cleaning inside of their computer. Nothing wrong with doing it. Some people just don't realize how easy it is to damage components within the computer. Static electricity can damage sensitive computer components. Here's a pretty good tutorial on cleaning the inside of your computer. Cleaning the Interior of your PC Let us know how you make out with the memory test. -------------------- JC

Thanks
I did a clean with a vacuum and i didn't touch any of the components, and yes it was very dirt, i have carpet and a cat who likes to be everywhere and above anything is warm, i found cat hair covering almost 75% the ventilation panel aswell inside the computer. After the cleanup the computer stay longer in hours but the BOD still happenning, i will run a memory test in some hours and i will post the results. To add this computer was turn off and working for months without turning off, i don't know if the problem is overheat...to tell the truth... Thanks again |

MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION is almost definitely a hardware issue. After running Memtest, go to Control Panel> System and click on the Hardware tab, then select Device Manager. Expand the tree (+) and look for any X's or yellow exclamation points. A diagnostics test of your hard drive might also indicate any issues. You monitor might be alright, it could be your video card or simply new drivers for the card. What is the make/model of your computer?

I'm not a big fan of the Windows Memory Diagnostic - preferring this free utility for that purpose: http://www.memtest86.com/
You can also remove one stick and test the other - then swap them out and test the other one. -------------------- - John

Good idea I will try to run the memtest with each stick separately i'll post the results shortly |

Mark Thanks Man I found an X in the Creative audio card, but i think this one was disabled when my friend installed in my pc the 5.1 audio card like 1 1/2 year ago...i will post the exactly name and the other audio card/device Here's my system details: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (build 2600) SP 2.0 Architecture: X86; Language: English CPU 0: AMD Athlon™ Processor Percentage of Memory in Use: 53% Physical Memory (total/avail): 503.49 MiB / 235.41 MiB Pagefile Memory (total/avail): 942.8 MiB / 711.25 MiB Virtual Memory (total/avail): 2047.88 MiB / 1973.21 MiB A: is Removable (No Media) C: is Fixed (NTFS) - 37.27 GiB total, 18.85 GiB free. What make and model of PC do you have? Usually the fan is either held on with screws or with spring clips (although some are a bit difficult to figure out).

Removing the fan should be fairly easy. Just unplug it from the motherboard first (and unplug the computer from the wall). Since it's a custom build, the fan can be connected almost any way. A picture of it (even low resolution from a camera phone) would help.
Then look and see if you can see 4 screws in the corner of the fan - if so, undo them to remove the fan. If not, then look for clamps that'll hold the fan to the cooler - it may extend all the way down to the motherboard - and can either be plastic, thin spring steel, or about a 1/4" wide piece of metal. The plastic one's are too varied to describe, the thin spring steel one's can be slid off, and the wide metal one's are usually held down by tension (so you'll have to push one side down towards the motherboard and then slide it out. Be very, very careful doing this! One slip of a screwdriver and you can ruin the motherboard. -------------------- - John

Is the PSU fans ....so its attached to the power unit....do i need to remove the whole power unit? I'm not quite sure I understand your question, but if the fan in the power supply does not work do not attempt to remove it unless you know what you are doing. There are storage capacitors in it that will knock you for a loop if you touch them wrong. It's safer to get a new one Mark -------------------- Mark
why won't my laptop work?
