Hosts-perm.bat is a batch file that will reset the permissions for the Windows HOSTS file. In the event that you attempt to delete or modify the HOSTS file and receive a message stating that you do not have permission, you can use the Hosts-perm.bat to reset the permissions so that you can properly access it.
Many computer infections modify the Windows HOSTs file so that you are unable to access various sites or make it so that when you visit a legitimate site you are instead redirected to one under the malware developers control. Once they make these changes, certain malware will change the permissions on the HOSTS file so that you are unable to delete it or modify it. Hosts-perm.bat will reset these permissions so that you will once again have full access to it.
